Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21 1982) is a famous American actor. Most notably, she was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. After her parents' divorce the actress left Worthington, Ohio to live in Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first part as Rachel's Room's title character the online video show Rachel's Room in 2001. In the following year, she was awarded a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. Grace appeared as Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. She was the main role for two seasons, and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace, who had worked with Tom Welling on The Fog during 2005, wanted to move to film. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and in 2007 and Taken with Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She reprised her role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was Shannon again in Lost's finale episode, as well as two additional episodes. She also was a guest in the sixth episode of Californication. She plays Faith she is the muse and fan of the celebrities. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs and is the younger sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career as a teenager with small appearances in her father's films and appeared with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). She also was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and the romantic comedy Secretary (2002). The two films were critically acclaimed. After several commercially successful films in 2006 including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as an unmarried mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she got a nomination in the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She then appeared in dramas and comedies, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Other roles she has played include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in the film Frank (2014) and the title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021, Gyllenhaal was able to make her writing and directing debut with the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
